INTRODUCTION

Red Rock is a non-denominational, dynamic, and unique Christian church for the city of Colorado Springs. They have roughly 1,200 people that would call Red Rock home and attend one of their 3 service times on a Sunday morning. While they have a relaxed atmosphere they strive to create the best guest experience for those coming through their doors, especially for the first time. Red Rock offers age specific, fun, and relevant environments for children, students, young adults and adults. They are committed to helping people choose community through community groups that meet throughout the week as well as local missions bettering the city of Colorado Springs. The 2019 budget at Red Rock is approximately 1.2 million dollars.

MISSION, CULTURE, LEADERSHIP

MISSION/VALUES

Red Rock’s mission is to be people helping people discover Jesus and follow Him fearlessly.

Red Rock aims to embody four values (the core four)...

  • Access...we make every effort, to remove every hurdle, for those turning to God. Acts 15:19
  • Brokenness...we see our imperfection and our hearts break for those far from God. Matthew 9:36
  • Celebration...we make every step a big deal in everyone’s journey. Luke 15:32
  • Duplication...we seek to develop fearless followers who disciple others. 2 Timothy 2:2

CHURCH CULTURE

Red Rock is a place where everyone is welcome no matter where you are or what season of life you are in. They believe that just as Jesus is irresistable, the local church should be irresistible too. The prayer is that people wake up on a Sunday morning with a desire to go to church. Their desire is that Sunday would be the best hour of someone’s week, because they feel like they can belong whether they believe or not. Red Rock makes this known through creative programming, age specific environments, and events. Their desire is to help people discover Jesus and follow Him fearlessly. They have a two step strategy to help accomplish their mission which aims to have people discover on weekends and connect in a group throughout the week. Anybody who would consider themselves a “member” of Red Rock Church is encouraged to also live out the Fearless Five. Feeding Yourself, Engaging Your Places,  Accepting Accountability, Risking Comfort, and always striving for Less of me, more of Him.

The children and student environments are fun, creative, and engaging and follow the “Orange” philosophy that two combined influences are greater than one in a child’s life (family + church). This includes environments on the weekends and events/resources that help to partner with parents throughout the week to help children trust God no matter what.

Upstreet (Kindergarten through 5th Grade Environment)

Transit (Middle School Environment)

Red Rock believes that circles are better than rows and because of that places a high value on small group culture; such as community groups, Starting Point and Financial Peace University.

Red Rock has a staff that values taking it personally, choosing trust, making it happen, pursuing health, making things better, taking the low place, making it fun, and replacing yourself.

Because of the tendency for any organization, including churches, is to grow more complex over time, Red Rock values simplicity and excellence so that what they choose to do is done well.

LEADERSHIP

Red Rock has the following Leadership structure: staff led and elder guided. The Lead Pastor is the leader of the board of elders but also reports to them. The Leadership Team is responsible for carrying out the the day to day operations of the church. The staff functions as a team and is committed, collectively, to the mission and vision. They are a high capacity, hard working and relational team that pursues excellence together.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Red Rock is highly concerned about those far from God but also genuinely cares for those who call Red Rock home.

He/she must be authentic in their life and spiritual walk - being the same person on and off stage.

This opportunity will present the right person with:

  • Leadership privilege at a church that is growing and has potential to expand throughout the city
  • A committed team and staff
  • The opportunity to live in one of the most irresistible places

HISTORY

Red Rock Church began services in August of 2006 at the Antlers Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs. A pair of brothers, Andrew and Paul Reichart, saw a need for a different kind of church in Colorado Springs and decided to start a church in a strategic partnership with North Point Community Church out of Atlanta, GA. The next phase of Red Rock Church began as they continued to be portable, but began weekly services in Pine Creek High School. In the fall of 2013, Red Rock opened its doors to their first permanent facility which has now expanded to 36,000 square feet. Roughly 1,200 people now call Red Rock home. In the summer of 2014 the lead pastor, Paul Reichart, moved on and was followed by Jason Perkins in January of 2015. As of spring of 2019, Red Rock began their search for a new lead pastor who will lead them in their new season.
