MISSION

Inviting everyone to experience that Jesus makes life better.

VALUES

We value...

real over religious: because we would rather be always real than always religious.

Acts 15:19 • It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.

we over me: because everything in life works better when it’s not about me.

Colossians 3:12-14 • Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

steps over statements: because what we do with what we believe is what really matters.

James 1:22-25 • But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

giving over getting: because the value of a life is found in how much of it is given away.

Romans 12:1-2 • Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

people over preferences: because reaching people is eternally more important than my personal opinion.

Matthew 28:19-20 • Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

creative over comfortable: because we’ll never be satisfied with safe or content with mediocre.

Philippians 3:12-14 • Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

WORSHIP + STAFF CULTURE

This is a pivotal and exciting time to partner with Eastern Hills Community Church! With the arrival of world class leader, Tom Basson and the high level support found in being a part of the Irresistible Church Network, this is a great time to join the Eastern Hills team as God writes the next chapter in this church's history. The Creative Arts Pastor will oversee the worship and communications ministries at Ehills and give oversight to the Communications Manager, Worship Pastor, Production Director and Broadcast Video Director. This leader will join a staff that is passionate about reaching the unchurched and de-churched and who assess everything they do and communicate through this lens.

Ehills is a church that sings. Not only that, they worship. They are passionate about going after God and receiving messages that are biblical and tangible to their real day-to-day lives. The service is designed and delivered by the Creative Arts Team, who this role will oversee and guide with creativity, high EQ, focus and drive. Ehills is a high feedback culture and gathers weekly as a staff to listen and offer constructive feedback on the message and any talking points delivered in the upcoming service. This next leader will not shy away from constructive feedback but will see the "all hands in the middle" aspect to this in ensuring a Sunday service that communicates well what is intended.

After a great deal of vision casting and heavy lifting by the Worship Pastor and Production Director, Eastern Hills is now nearly an all volunteer-led team for their band and production members. There is a high caliber of musicianship, and the team has grown and developed from within to be a healthy, Jesus-centered ministry with zero ego. The music is supported by Ableton Tracks and led by the Worship Pastor and Music Director who set up the worship music well for excellence and engagement.

With an A+ sound system, video and lighting technical capability, the next right Creative Arts Pastor will have the opportunity to come alongside and encourage forward an already incredibly gifted team of technical artists. At this time, worship practice happens on Thursday evenings. The First Thursday of the month is a time for the entire team to gather over a meal, to learn and grow together.

Songwriting has been a part of the worship culture at Ehills and is continuing to grow and develop. The next Creative Arts Pastor will be an encourager of this flame within the worship team and will give guidance over the process and stewardship of this creative edge.

Eastern Hills practices believer baptisms and communion at various times throughout the year. The Creative Arts Pastor will be a part of determining the rhythm and schedule of these.

Eastern Hills currently offers two weekend services on Sundays at 9 + 11am. There is a long-term vision of opening up another campus in the future, of which the Creative Arts Pastor will have a voice into the "how" of multisite.

. Eastern Hills is incredibly planned out, with nearly a year's worth of series strategized and in the calendar. This strategy has proved to provide great space for meaningful creativity for branding content, videos, messages and music.
