LIFE CHURCH HISTORY
Life Church was launched Easter Sunday, 2004. As the church met in their first space, Bradley Creek Elementary, they continued to grow into a faithful group of believers who pioneered the movement. In 2009, Life Church relocated into a very unique location inside the Independence Mall. The attendance doubled from an average of 200 people to over 400 people in one week.
In 2016, Life Church located 17 acres of land to be the future home of our church and began raising the funds to pay off the property. The Church rallied around this effort. We fully expected to remain inside the Mall until we could relocate to our new building, but God had a better plan.
The Independence Mall began a redevelopment project in 2018 forcing us to relocate our church into a temporary location, while we continue our building project. Due to a gracious partnership with First Baptist Church, we were able to rent their Activity Center on Sunday mornings for our worship services. Every Sunday we set up our auditorium in the gymnasium and all of their children’s ministries, in other areas of the building. What we thought looked like a set back, God is using this season to build a stronger team f committed for our ministry.
Life Church truly believe the best is still yet to come.
OUR VISION: Helping You Find Life in Jesus.
LEADERSHIP & TEAM
LEADERSHIP
Tim and Harriet Blevins founded Life Church in 2004 in Wilmington, NC. Tim's teaching style is always practical and user-friendly. He has a unique gift for taking the deeper issues of scripture and presenting them using common language that everyone can apply in their lives.
Harriet is also called into ministry and serves as the co-lead pastor. She is passionate about leading the women of Life Church, which she does through the Sisterhood ministry. She desires to empower women to be courageous, free and purposeful with their lives.
The leadership of life church is extremely collaborative in nature. The Executive Team consist of the Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Executive Administrator. The general direction and vision is cast at this level. The remainder of the staff is critical and vital in the execution of church strategies. Numerous meetings are held for buy in, suggestions, and support for the overall projects of the church.
Team Values
The staff team at Life Church is refreshingly healthy, honest, committed to difficult conversations, and most importantly relational. The team is collaborative in nature, extremely caring and understanding, more hands off style of management, family focused and leads with a pastoral heart.
LOCATION & DEMOGRAPHICS
On the Coast
Wilmington, NC is located in Southeastern North Carolina right on the coast. Wilmington has several beaches along its coastline and a river, the Cape Fear River. We have a historical downtown area with local businesses, shops, and historical landmarks. Wilmington also has Mayfair Town Center, a high end shopping center that includes restaurants and cafes, shops, and a movie theater. Throughout the city you will find many local eateries, cafes, parks, a mall being redeveloped and small to large businesses of varying types. Life Church is located in the center of the city which means easy access to all of the locals favorite spots!
The Church
The church is sound and healthy. The staff consist of a total of nine full time employees. Attendance prior to the pandemic was consistent at 625-650 in total attendance in two services on Sunday. The portable aspect of the church takes its expected toll, but they have a volunteer base of around 125 people each Sunday that make it happen. The Lead Pastor considers the church to be in a great condition and position today.

The Opportunity
The Weekend Experience
To many, Life Church's worship style may sound reminiscent of current modern worship bands like Elevation, Bethel, Passion, Hillsong etc.
Life Church has a distinct culture of relationship. They focus their efforts not only with staff, but with volunteers to build relationally in the community as well as individuals to be incredible leaders to one another.
Life Church is looking for a collaborative, teachable, yet self assured individual that is excited to grow the production ministry at Life Church. Life Church is seeking a creatively engaged and spiritually aware Technical Director. This person will work alongside the Worship Director and Creative Director to look at each weekend and how that team can serve the church and its ministries more effectively.
