LEADERSHIP

The governance structure of FBC is based on congregational principles, with leadership vested in a respected group of pastors who guide the congregation. To further involve church members in governance, they utilize a committee system that facilitates their active participation in the decision-making process. Additionally, business meetings are conducted quarterly, providing a platform for discussing church affairs and ensuring transparency and collective involvement in church governance.

The senior leadership team consists of three co-equal leaders who share responsibilities and decision-making to guide the congregation and staff.

Craig Montroy - Missions Pastor

Joel Gunn - Executive Pastor

Ryan Robertson - Preaching/Teaching Pastor

STUDENT MINISTRY APPROACH

Infinite Youth

SNAPSHOT

# of students - 50-60

# of Volunteers - 14

DESIGNATED SPACE

The student ministries are privileged to have their own dedicated building, affectionately known as The Plaza. This space features a large area for services, zones for games, and rooms tailored for small groups. Currently undergoing renovations, The Plaza is set to be equipped with state-of-the-art audio, lighting, and video systems, alongside game stations, comfortable furniture, and a stage. This transformation is all about creating an environment that truly resonates with the youth. This new leader will be given freedom to dream and bring their creativity to this space.

SOLID FOUNDATION

The new Student Pastor will step into an incredible opportunity to further develop and enhance a robust foundation of students and volunteers. This is a chance to elevate what is already good to something truly great. Thanks to the great work of our previous Student Pastor, who established effective systems and processes, this new leader will have a strong platform from which to build and grow.

POWER LUNCH

The schools in Bloomfield have welcomed Youth Pastors and ministry leaders from FBC with open arms, demonstrating a supportive and encouraging stance towards their involvement. FBC has been instrumental in backing the monthly, student-led Bible studies on campus. With 33 percent of Bloomfield's population under the age of 18, this young demographic represents a significant opportunity for this new leader.
.

ANNUAL EVENTS

Annually, FBC students participate in special events including summer camp, Disciple Now (D-Now), and host events at the church for the community. These community outreach events have seen over 200 students in attendance. Traditionally, the youth ministry has organized mission trips for students, so it is crucial that this new leader possesses both a passion for and experience in leading trips. This new leader will be given the flexibility to creatively design an annual calendar of events that aligns with their unique passions and vision for engaging students both in the church and in the community.

CHALLENGE & OPPORTUNITY

LONGEVITY

This role offers an amazing opportunity to create lasting connections with students, families, and volunteers. After five very successful years, the former Pastor transitioned into the Teaching and Preaching Pastor of the church. In the interim, the student ministries has been led by the Executive Pastor and a group of committed volunteers who have done a great job of building relationships and keeping the ministry together. Now it's time for someone to come and refresh the ministry. This is not a role to be seen as a “stepping stone” for what might be next. Ideally, this role is for someone prepared to dedicate three to five years to growing with FBC and making a lasting impact.

RELATIONAL

First Baptist Church’s culture is highly relational. A successful candidate will be able to convey warmth and sincerity as they cultivate relationships with students, families, and staff. It will be important that the new leader feels comfortable with kids, students, parents, and community leaders.

DISCIPLESHIP- FOCUSED

This new leader will need to be well versed in small group ministry styles and developing small group leaders. There is a solid group of adult leaders who are committed and have longevity. At the heart of the student ministry, you'll find a focus on the transformative power of God's word. This core value shines through their teaching methods and in the way they center their teaching on scripture during small group sessions, emphasizing a journey of intentional exploration and understanding.

MULTI-CULTURAL and MULTI-GENERATIONAL

Bloomfield, New Mexico, is a highly diverse city. The ethnic composition is primarily Native American, Hispanic, and Caucasian. Although this new leader will primarily work with students, they must also be comfortable working with people of all ages. It will be important that this new leader is familiar with designing a ministry that embraces FBC's intergenerational values. Because at FBC, they want every student to feel they are an integral part of the larger faith family. No mini-church vibes here! Developing a ministry strate
